ADULT & STARTED YOUNG KELPIES FOR SALE

We sometimes have a few adult or well stated pups for sale. Most adults for sale have not had any long term hard station experience doing sheep work except for the basics, general sheep training, obedience and assessments of natural ability. Some of the older dogs have had real big sheep station experience and training but not for the last year or two, so would be a bit rusty.

We really don't want to have to put a lot of time into training these Kelpies for sale. It takes time and makes them more expensive (around $2,500 - $4,000)  to train them up to a high degree and prefer to make them available as they are, so they are very affordable to everyone. All dogs in good condition.  As with all adult dogs, expect a few weeks for a dog to settle in to a new home and longer to be 100% at home and fully relaxed. It's best not to work your dog on sheep for the first week (or two) and then only in a yard or small paddock under close supervision until they are completely settled in with you.

All adult Kelpies that we have for sale, will get a little stressed when they go to a new home so we expect customers to be aware of that and treat the dog accordingly.

Please note that none of our Kelpies for sale under 6 years of age have ever worked cattle. We don't run cattle anymore and therefore cannot work them on cattle.

LOCATION OF THE NOONBARRA STUD
This year we are still reducing the number of dogs we have in the Stud. We started this in 2014 and it is still ongoing. It's been a very slow process but we like to make sure the dog goes to the 'right' owner and the owner gets the a good match for them too. We like to see our dogs happy and we want them to have a good life. We have some fantastic dogs available over the next couple of months.
 

KELPIE - BOSS
Red & Tan Male Kelpie - 4 Years old (Feb 2015)

Just listed. This is a gentle natured young male that would make a wonderful companion.

He travels well in the car, good at cafe in town, loves a pat and will nudge your hand for more!

Boss is a very calm dog and has a great laid back attitude. Doesn't jump up on people, very gentle.

He has been a fantastic sire for us but we seem to be using his son, Noonbarra Dave and his brother, Noonbarra Brock quite a bit and poor Boss is a bit wasted here. We have four sires here and really should have no more than two! So we have to make some hard decisions.

Boss is a very handsome dog and always gets comments from people. He has a little nick on his right ear but it doesn't distract from his good looks.

Penny is a real sweetheart!

One of our nicest dogs. Customers who come to our Stud love her. She is friendly, affectionate and excellent with people and likes to be with you. Ideal travelling and good indoors or out in town. Likes to be with us. Good at cafes etc. Walks well on a lead, happy personality.

She has been an excellent breeding female and lovely worker but most of all a wonderful affectionate companion dog. Very gentle female. Good in car and good out with us. Just relaxes and lies down at cafes etc. She would not be suitable for a hard handler. She is NOT timid but like all soft natured dogs, she can be a little submissive if she feels uncomfortable or unsure. Things like traffic noise and crowds of people don't worry her. She walks well on a lead, is crate trained and loves a pat.

She works well on sheep but like a few other dogs we are selling she hasn't had much hard experience. With a lot of dogs here as well as puppies the adults only get to help out every now and then and often in small paddocks. With a bit more training and experience she would be sensational.

She has bred a couple of fantastic litters for us and is in her prime. If we didn't need to reduce the number of dogs we have, then she would stay here. Not desperate to sell her but would like to find a loving home for her.

 

 

 

  

 

 

KELPIE -TWIGGY

This is a lovely young Kelpie and she is being sold very cheaply. Nice friendly personality. Happy sort and loves to be with you and have fun. She would make a great companion.

Excellent dog in the car and loves to go for a drive. Quiet dog in the car too. Found her the other day just lying in the back of the SUV. (back was open). I guess she wanted to be ready in case we went for a drive.

Good indoors and happy to join us at night on the lounge watching TV. We have taken her out to cafes and walked her in town and she has been excellent. Doesn't get worried by much. Not noise sensitive. Loves to come for a run with the motorbike etc. We like her a lot. Gets along well with Penny and other dogs. Very good with pups.

I took her to the big off leash dog park in Orange this week. She had never been before. So first time. I was not sure what to expect but she was wonderful. She said hello to a couple of dogs but was a bit more interested in meeting the people there. She got a lot of pats and cuddles and seemed to enjoy herself immensely. She came when called and mostly just calmly explored. She didn't jump on people but sidled up next to them and nudged their hand for a pat. Everyone loved her. She got on with all the dogs there.

Very nice natural inherited working ability on sheep but not much experience.  Mostly only worked in very small paddocks but with a bit of training and experience could handle anything. At this stage we are probably looking at placing her as a companion dog or on a small hobby farm to help out. We are just not well enough to put the sheepwork and training into her to bring her up to be a $3,000 or $4,000 working dog. So we would rather sell her at her level now at a cheap price.

She has mostly been on the farm but is quite adaptable and will settle in quickly. She has been kennelled most of her life but enjoys any occasion she gets to come inside and keep us company. She gets along with Penny quite well and we are prepared to sell both dogs together at a discounted rate.
